RDO-Calbee Foods, LLC is a joint venture between RD Offutt Foods of Fargo, ND and Calbee snacks of Tokyo, Japan. RD Offutt is the largest potato grower in the US, with food processing plants in 5 states. Calbee is the second largest snack food company in the world with market dominance in Japan and Asia. These two companies have come together to leverage their expertise by forming a joint venture company. RDO-Calbee Foods will process potatoes in Boardman and export frozen product to Calbee plants. Calbee plants in Japan will finish and package this product as Jagabee brand snacks for the Asian market. The market demand for Jagabee brand snack far exceeds the current capacity of Calbee manufacturing in Japan. The Boardman plant has a key role in the future growth and plans for Calbee.
The facility and equipment are state of the art with future production expansion designed into the plant. The equipment is integrated and automated with technician positions being primarily skilled equipment operators. Technicians are selected based upon their experience, skills and aptitude in working in a food processing environment. I am seeking candidates who demonstrate individual initiative as well as work well within a team based environment. Abilities and interest to grow into roles of greater responsibility are important, as there will be future opportunities for personal growth and development. Management candidates should be technically oriented with team building skills to coach teams and mentor individuals. Industry experience, expertise and proven people skills are necessary in order to lead from the front.
